| News RIETS Alumni Reconnect with YU for Reunion and Annual RIETS Dinner On Tuesday, October 27th, RIETS alumni returned to the Wilf campus for a day of reunion activities to mark their 25th, 40th and 50th anniversary since receiving smicha. The schedule included lunch with Dr. Norman Lamm as well as a “Pikuach Nefesh on Shabbat” shiur given by Rabbi Zvi Sobolofsky. The alumni, from the classes of 1959, 1969 and 1984 were then given a tour A Center for All: CDC Provides Support to Alumni and StudentsYeshiva University’s Career Development Center (CDC) continuously establishes opportunities to benefit students as well as alumni. Through resources like InfoLink, alumni can serve as volunteer career advisors to students, and by participating in on-campus panels, information sessions and networking events, alumni provide direct and invaluable insight into career planning and job searching. “Dedicated alumni make a great contribution Aaron and Blanche Schreiber Torah Tours Impacts Jewish Communities Last month, close to 80 Jewish communities across North America hosted students and alumni participating in the annual Aaron and Blanche Schreiber Torah Tours Simchat Torah Program of Yeshiva University Center for the Jewish Future. These 400 men and women spent Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah with Orthodox congregations and played large roles in the communities that they visited. “The ruach was really great,” said Rabbi Uri Goldstein of Ahavat Achim in Fairlawn, NJ, “we have never had a better Inspired Young Leaders Form Nahshon Society On Wednesday, September 9th, The Nahshon Society, named for the biblical personality defined by his devotion and initiative, held its inaugural meeting. The group's goal is to build a community of recent graduates who will be actively involved in the life of the University. Nahshon Society members – successful Students Make the Case for ScholarshipsThis month, many YU alumni will receive a phone call from a current student participating in the Annual Fund phone-a-thon. Twenty undergraduate students will work to garner support from alumni, share University news, and update alumni records. Students will be asking for gifts to fund scholarships. The need for aid is quickly outpacing the amount of money available. All scholarship contributions will be matched by the generous donations of two University trustees, doubling the value of their gifts. Yeshiva College Dramatics Society presents Of Mice and Men Date: December 05, 2009 to December 10, 2009 This year the Yeshiva College Dramatics Society is performing the stage version of the famous novel Of Mice and Men, an entertaining drama by Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck. This is Professor Lin Snider’s eighth production as director at Yeshiva University.
